Introduction to Data Standards: Online ACES and PIES Course

by Zoi' Holloway

Launched January 2022, the online, interactive, self-paced course provides the necessary skills auto care industry professionals need to use industry data standards that speak the same technical language as their customers. Fluency in ACES and PIES enables businesses to get the right part, to the right place, at the right time.

The course includes:

  • An overview of the catalog process;

  • An introduction to the databases;

  • An overview of ACES;

  • An overview of PIES; and

  • An overview of how to make changes to the data.
  • Students can begin the course at any time and complete it at their own pace.

    The regular member price for the course is $149 and $249 for non-members.

    The Data Standards course is available at autocare.org/elearning.

    Auto care industry professionals from over 160 companies have already signed up for the e-learning course! Check out what a few of them had to say about the course!

    I was fairly comfortable with ACES knowledge going into the training but my knowledge and experience with PIES was more limited. The PIES Lesson did a very good job of detailing the different aspects of a PIES file as well as the appropriate subsections. All of this helped me feel more comfortable when discussing ACES and PIES files both inside and outside my company

    Zack Rasmussen, catalog manager, ETE REMAN

    The ACES® and PIES™ e-learning course was an excellent way for me to brush up on my existing ACES knowledge and discover a few things I may not have been aware of yet. This course also helped me learn more about best practices for creating PIES content and be aware of the do’s and don’ts with PIES. I feel more confident in my knowledge of how ACES and PIES work and interact with each other. As a result, Highline Warren’s filtration data will be cleaner and more accurate than ever before.

    Adam Phillips, product information manager, Highline Warren

    This course helped to provide further detail and clarity into the ACES and PIES standards and structure to help round out the knowledge and experience I had prior to it. It helped shape my fundamental understanding of the data standards.
