Right to Repair

On November 3, Massachusetts voters overwhelmingly supported a ballot initiative that would provide car owners with access to their mechanical data and would permit owners to share that data with the repair shop of their choice.

Access to and Control of Vehicle Data

We believe drivers should have the right to transparency around the data collected from their vehicles, including what was collected, how it was used and with whom the vehicle manufacturers shared it.

USMCA

USMCA was signed into law by President Trump on January 29, 2020. After all three member countries ratified the agreement, it entered into force on July 1, 2020.

Steel and Aluminum Imports 232 Tariffs

Auto Care's position is that imported steel and aluminum are not a threat to national security, and these tariffs should be eliminated.

Healthcare

The Auto Care Association, as a founding member the Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage, continues to lobby for a return to the 40-hours a week definition of a full-time employee, and simplified, reduced reporting requirements.

Technician Shortage

The viability of our industry is dependent, in part, on our ability to recruit and train skilled technicians that can diagnose and repair modern vehicles.
