paul fioreBETHESDA, Md. – May 31, 2022 – The Auto Care Association today announced that Paul Fiore, senior director, government affairs, will be retiring from his role at the end of August.

Fiore joined the Auto Care Association in 2011 as the director of government affairs. In 2016, he was promoted to his current role as senior director of government affairs. During his time with the Auto Care Association, Fiore assisted in the Right to Repair efforts in Massachusetts early on, eventually gaining momentum across the country and all the way to Capitol Hill. Fiore assisted the association’s government affairs team in significantly growing awareness and respect from legislators and staffers for the auto care industry in general, and the Auto Care Association in particular, culminating with introduction of the “Right to Equitable and Professional Auto Industry Repair” (REPAIR) Act earlier this year.

“I’ve been very fortunate spending 45 years in the industry,” said Fiore. “I’m just grateful to have spent the last 11 years here with the Auto Care Association. It's been a lot of fun.”

Fiore has dedicated his entire career in service to the automotive industry. Prior to his time with the Auto Care Association, he was the owner and operator of a gas station with auto repair in Laurel, Md. During this time, Fiore also served on numerous local and national boards and councils related to access to oil and gasoline, ended as the volunteer president of the state trade association. At the time of the sale of his business, Fiore was servicing the cars of three generations in the neighborhood that they had the privilege of knowing and respecting.  Following his time as a business owner, Fiore spent eight years as an association lobbyist in Annapolis, Md., where he focused on policy issues that included the passage of model legislation protecting the service station dealers in Maryland from predatory pricing.

“The American people have had a friend and advocate in Paul for the past 45 years,” said Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association. “His lifelong dedication to serving everyday Americans at the local, state and federal levels has helped to achieve monumental wins for the motoring public and the entire auto care industry.”
