Jason Schenker is a futurist, economist, and author who speaks about financial markets, the economy, energy, metals, supply chain, manufacturing, geopolitics, trends, and technology.

Jason is Chairman of The Futurist Institute, and over 930,000 learners have taken Jason’s 20 LinkedIn Learning courses on business, leadership, economics, finance, audit, and risk.

As President of Prestige Economics, Bloomberg News has ranked Jason the #1 forecaster in the world in 26 different categories since 2011, including for his forecasts of oil prices, industrial metals prices, the euro, the British pound, and U.S. jobs. Jason was ranked one of the 100 most influential financial advisors in the world by Investopedia in 2018.

Since 2004, Jason has given over 1,000 speeches to private and public companies, industry groups, financial market exchanges, SXSW, and the U.S. Federal Reserve. Jason attends OPEC and Fed events, and he has advised the U.S. State Department, NATO, the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.K. Ministry of Defense, and the CIA. He discusses futurist themes, financial markets, energy prices, healthcare, and national security topics, including Cold War Two®.

Jason has written 36 books. Fifteen have been #1 Best Sellers, including The Future After COVID, Jobs for Robots, The Promise of Blockchain, Quantum: Computing Nouveau, Futureproof Supply Chain, The Future of Finance is Now, The Future of Energy, The Future of Travel, and The Robot and Automation Almanac.

Jason holds a Master’s in Applied Economics from UNC Greensboro, a Master’s in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding from CSU Dominguez Hills, a Master’s in Germanic Languages and Literature from UNC Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor’s in History and German from The University of Virginia. He has earned over a dozen professional certificates and certifications, including the FLTA® (Certified Futurist and Long-Term Analyst), CFP® (Certified Financial Planner), CMT® (Chartered Market Technician), ERP® (Energy Risk Professional), and SCR® (Sustainability and Climate Risk).

Before founding Prestige Economics in 2009, Jason was a Risk Specialist at McKinsey and Company after having worked previously as the Chief Energy and Commodity Economist at Wachovia Investment Bank (Wells Fargo).

Since 2014, Jason has been one of the 100 CEOs on the Texas Business Leadership Council (TBLC), the non-partisan state-level affiliate of the Business Roundtable that advises Texas elected leaders at the state and federal levels. Jason is currently on the TBLC Executive Committee. Jason has been a member of the Bretton Woods Committee since 2020.

In 2022, Jason earned the professional designation of an NACD Board Leadership Fellow.
