How did you get your start at the Auto Care Association?

From our friend, Angela 😊

What are your work duties at the association?

As a member engagement associate, my role includes processing new member applications and keeping member records up to date.

In which department do you work? What are the key responsibilities of the department?

Membership engagement; our team promotes the association by matching association benefits to the needs of existing and prospective members.

Where did you go to college? What did you study?

I graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in family and child development.

Where else have you worked (what jobs/positions/locations)?

Most recently I worked at Schaeffler Group in South Carolina. Before that I stayed home with our two kiddos for 10 years, worked from home as a medical transcriptionist, then worked at the middle school in the media center.

Where did you grow up and what are some interesting details about your life before working at the association?

I grew up in Virginia Beach, Va., a Navy town right next door to Norfolk, Va., where jet noise was the norm. I was an actual candy striper at Norfolk General Hospital where my mom worked as a nurse her entire career.

What is your favorite part about working at the association? What are the biggest rewards?

The work culture is AMAZING and there is always something to look forward to.

What unique qualities do you feel you bring to the Auto Care Association?

I enjoy being behind-the-scenes and supporting others.

What are your long-range professional goals for both you and the Auto Care Association?

Learning as much as I can about the auto industry and providing quality service to our members.

What do you feel are the biggest rewards of working in the auto care industry?

Knowing that the work we do affects the lives of everyone in some way.

Tell us about your life outside of work (family, hobbies, home, etc.).

My husband and I live in Charlotte, N.C. with two kids in college. In my free time I love baking and crafting, mainly sewing.

Tell us a few fun facts about you that would surprise people (special skills, awards, accomplishments, etc.).

I participated in the Little Miss Philippines pageant when I was 10.
