Words to live by/motto: Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.
How did you get your start at the Auto Care Association?
One of my roles at AutoZone was as a data steward. I helped work with the brand table where I was able to develop working relationships and gained knowledge about the Auto Care Association’s databases. What are your work duties at the association? Can you describe a typical day?
I am still quite new and have more to learn. High-level speaking, my work duties at the association consist of data analysis and reporting, standards subscription management and brand table management. In which department do you work? What are the key responsibilities of the department?
I work in the technology standards department. Our key responsibilities are taking care of the standards and digital products. Our department handles all things ACES®, PIES ® and brand related.Where did you go to college? What did you study?
I went to college at the University of Memphis. I studied family and consumer sciences, with a concentration in fashion merchandising with a minor in marketing management.Where else have you worked (what jobs/positions/locations)?
I worked at AutoZone in Memphis, Tenn. for 11 years, where I gained knowledge and experience in merchandising, supply chain and e-commerce. The last four years, I led the site planning team with planning their website. I planned which deals to promote throughout the site, as well as helping strategize and plan evergreen content for brands and categories. What is your favorite part about working at the association? What are the biggest rewards?
My favorite part about working at the association is being able to make an impact on the automotive industry all while doing so alongside a talented group of people. The association feels like one big family and the people are great! The biggest reward is being able to provide a beneficial service and program to the industry.
What unique qualities do you feel you bring to the Auto Care Association?
I am not shy and can talk to just about anyone. So, not necessarily unique, but definitely a beneficial quality to have; having that passion to build relationships and interact with our members and the industry as a whole. I have worked multiple roles within the automotive industry, so I bring a wide variety of knowledge that I can use to help me in my current role. What are your long-range professional goals for both you and the Auto Care Association?
I hope to continue to grow with the Auto Care Association as it grows. I want to gain as much knowledge as possible and to be able to give back and make an impact on the association and the industry. Tell us about your life outside of work (family, hobbies, home, etc.).
I live with my boyfriend of 20 years, and we have a dog that is a Sour Patch Kid. First, he’s sour, then he’s sweet! My hobbies consist of working out and shopping. If you are having a bad day, there is nothing that working out or “add to cart” cannot fix. I have also really enjoyed traveling over the last handful of years. I hate to fly but once I get to where I need to be, the fun begins!
