Meet your November 15 California Packaging EPR Reporting Deadline – A Toolkit for the Automotive Aftermarket
Auto Care Members Only
Hosted by Auto Care Association
Session overview
November 15 marks the first reporting deadline for California’s Packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program. This initial report will establish your company’s baseline packaging data — the foundation for future packaging reduction and recyclability requirements.
California’s EPR law is unlike any other in the U.S., covering 95 types of packaging materials and setting measurable reduction targets over time. The Auto Care Association, PARTSLIFE, and the Product Stewardship Institute (PSI) have developed guidance and tools to help you understand the law, the environmental goals behind it, and what producers in the automotive aftermarket must do to comply.
Key Topics:- Determine if you are obligated in California.
- Understand which packaging is reportable in California.
- Learn about the unique obligations of the California law, like reducing the amount of packaging and requirements for recyclability or compostability.
- Find out how to register with Circular Action Alliance (CAA) and the role of the Lubricants Packaging Management Association (LMPA) in California.
- Get tools and step-by-step guidance to help you prepare to report by November 15.
