Auto Care Association Adds 23 New Product Lines to Demand Index, Expanding Coverage to Nearly 200 Categories

Demand Index logoBETHESDA, Md. – Oct.1, 2026 – The Auto Care Association today announced the release of 23 new product lines now available in the Demand Index. The Demand Index is part of the Auto Care TrendLens® interactive data platform. It gives automotive aftermarket manufacturers, distributors and retailers real-world point-of-sale data so they can see how their products perform against broader category trends. 

This release is one of the largest single expansions in the tool's history. It brings Demand Index coverage to 188 product lines and extends visibility into several new areas, including diesel components, automatic transmission parts, fluids and chemicals and body hardware.

Companies can use that to benchmark performance, plan inventory and have more productive conversations with their trading partners.” 

The Demand Index provides unit sales and dollar sales data side by side. This allows users to benchmark product lines against industry-wide trends, identify how seasonality affects sales, and use standardized metrics when working with buyers and retailers.
