New Rules and Actions
Hydrofluoric Acid - California proposes to ban cleaning products that contain Hydrofluoric Acid, excluding inventory existing at the effective date of the rule. Comments are due July 20, 2026.

Workforce Resource Modernization - The Department of Labor is seeking input on modernizing two workforce development resources: CareerOneStop.org and the Occupational Information Network (O*NET) Program. Comments are welcome on any aspect of the resources, with a specific focus on modernizing the programs. Comments are due Aug. 10, 2026.

American Automobile Labeling Act - NHTSA is renewing an information collection request that asks for auto manufacturer information regarding compliance with the American Automobile Labeling Act, which requires labels with information on foreign parts content. Comments are due Aug. 10, 2026.

Anti-Theft Devices - NHTSA is renewing an information collection request that asks for manufacturer information regarding installation of anti-theft devices on new vehicles. Comments are due Aug. 10, 2026.

Denial of Petition under FMVSS 108 - NHTSA denied a petition to deem inconsequential violations of FMVSS 108 (Lamps) by two products manufactured by Jinhua Eagle King Tools, Co., Ltd.. Harbor Freight must now provide notification of and free remedy for those noncompliant devices.

Disparate Impact in DOT Title VI Regulations - DOT removed disparate impact from its Title VI regulations. The regulations now focus on only intentional discrimination.

Ongoing Tracked Rules
SEC Reporting - The SEC proposes to change reporting from quarterly to semi-annual. Comments are due July 6, 2026.

Light-duty and Medium-duty Vehicle Emission Standards - EPA proposes to extend start date for Tier 4 emission standards for light-duty and medium-duty vehicles to MY29 and plans to propose changes to Tier 4 standards in a forthcoming rulemaking. There were public hearings on June 3 and June 4. Comments are due July 6, 2026.

Ethylene Oxide reporting - OSHA is asking for comments on renewing the information collection requirements in the Ethylene Oxide standard. Comments are due July 7, 2026.

Container Transport Refrigeration - EPA proposes to exempt Road and Intermodal container transport refrigeration units from HFC leak repair requirements. Comments are due July 10, 2026.

Rear Automatic Braking Systems - NTHSA proposes to add rear automatic braking assessments to the new car assessment program. Comments are due July 27, 2026.
