trade mission to Colombia

June 5 - 6, 2019

The Auto Care Association is exited to announce a Trade Mission to Colombia. A cost-effective opportunity to gain firsthand market information, meet one-on-one with prospective customers and distributors pre-screened to match your specific business objectives.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit EXPOPARTES, the largest Colombian automotive parts fair organized by Asopartes, a Colombian trade association representing auto parts importers and distributors. Expopartes features more than 280 local and international exhibitors with over 25,000 visitors for 2019.

Trade Mission is open to all companies in the Auto Care Industry!

Why Colombia?

  • The United States is Colombia’s largest trading partner. U.S. exports to Colombia in 2017 were valued at USD 13.3 billion.
  • With approximately 49 million inhabitants, Colombia is the fourth largest economy in Latin America.
  • Colombia has five commercial hubs in the country: Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla, and Cartagena, in contrast to most Latin American countries that have one or two major cities.
  • Under the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement which entered into effect in 2012, most auto parts (which were previously assessed a tariff of 13 percent on average) enter the market tariff free. Tariffs on other parts will be reduced to zero over the next 1-5 years.
