ACES Light Duty / Powersports VCdb Price Change Notification

The Association and the Standards Team are committed to delivering the best, and we are so proud of the progress we’ve made over the last few years. From the significant re-platforming project to getting data into the VCdb more quickly to getting more in-depth ACES coverage in Powersports, off-road equipment, and Mexico light duty, we continue to increase the value of the data you use every day to power your business's content.

We are proud to be your partner and proud to serve this industry! To ensure we can continue to increase coverage and grow the industry resources and databases, we are introducing an adjustment to our pricing structure and a price increase to the VCdb Light Duty subscription.

Based on customer feedback, we are introducing a tiered pricing model similar to what you see in our Medium/Heavy Duty, and Product Attributes subscriptions. We’ve heard from many of you who appreciate this structure and feel that it provides a fairer distribution of support. You can view the updated rates and structure here: https://www.autocare.org/what-we-do/technology/subscriptions/. Subscribers will see the adjustment in future renewal notices.

This adjustment will enable us to continue to provide the quality and breadth of service you depend on every day. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Taylor Mitchell at taylor.mitchell@autocare.org.

We look forward to a productive 2019 with you!

PIES 7.1 is Coming!

Product Information Exchange Standard (PIES) latest release PIES 7.1 started the 90-day notification window on January 23, 2019, before it officially releases April 23, 2019.

What’s new?

The following projects are incorporated into the PIES 7.1 documentation and XSD.

#747 PIES: Kit segment extend to provide package contents for an item

  • The kit segment is not just for kits anymore. Use the updates to the kit segment to provide details for all of your package contents for your product.

#765 PIES - Shipping Volume Metrics

  • Dimension elements have been updated and added to distinguish between how an item is measured to put on a shelf and how an item is measured to be shipped.

#804 PIES Additions to Support the Heavy Duty Aftermarket

  • From the HHDA study the following Heavy Duty requirements have been added to the latest version of PIES. VMRS Brand ID has been added to the Item and Interchange Segments. Green Material Codes being added to the EXPI segment and Price Multiplier will be added to the Pricing Segment.

#814 PIES - Quantity per Application to allow zero or null

  • This change from an integer value to a string value allows for Quantity per Application element to be zero or null. This helps to provide a value of zero or null for the qualifiers of “NOT”, “REQ” and “VAR” coded values.
