Susan Starnes has built her career leveraging diverse communities and perspectives to create solutions that enhance customer experiences.  Currently, as vice president, emerging markets for NAPA Auto Parts, Susan focuses on both the strategy creation and implementation around emerging vehicle technologies for the company. 

Prior to joining NAPA, Susan spent over a decade in leadership roles at major retail companies. Most recently she led strategy and business development for Lumber Liquidators, where she established the company’s first strategic planning process, defined their roadmap for capability needs by leveraging customer segmentation and journey work, and served as their interim chief merchandising officer. Susan also oversaw the services businesses of The Guitar Center Company while Senior Vice President of Services there and spent over ten years at Lowe’s Companies, Inc., leading teams within strategy, merchandising, installation operations, and protection plan businesses. 

Susan is active in the auto care industry and currently serves on the Auto Care Association’s Emerging Technologies Committee and Government Affairs Committee. She holds a bachelor’s degree of science in chemical engineering from Cornell University and a master’s degree in business administration from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
