Paycheck Protection Program Loan Forgiveness: What You Need to Know
On Friday, May 15, the Small Business Administration (SBA) released the application for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan forgiveness and updated its Frequently Asked Questions document. The PPP allowed small businesses to receive an SBA-backed loan of up to 250% of monthly payroll costs to cover essential expenses incurred in a covered period between Feb. 15 and June 30, 2020. The SBA will forgive up to eight weeks of a borrower’s loans, with the amount forgiven being contingent upon employee retention and salary preservation.

Mexican Govt. Publishes Safety Guidelines, Sanitary Protocol Approval Registration Form for Transport Equipment Manufacturing Sector
On May 17, 2020, the Secretary of Health of Mexico, in coordination with the Secretaries of Economy, Labor and Social Welfare and the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) issued the Technical Sanitary Safety Guidelines in the Workplace, and posted the Sanitary Protocol Approval Registration Form for companies in the manufacturing of transport equipment, mining, and construction sectors.

Safelite Donates 400,000 Gloves, Face Masks to Ohio Hospitals
Knowing the critical need for medical supplies for frontline workers amid COVID-19, on Thursday, April 16, Safelite donated medical supplies to two local Columbus, Ohio, hospitals: Nationwide Children’s and OhioHealth. Each hospital received 200,000 latex gloves and 1,000 N95 face masks.

Auto Care Caucus Reaches 50th Member of Congress
The Auto Care Association announced today that Representative Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., has joined as the 50th member of the bi-partisan Congressional Auto Care Caucus. The caucus was started in 2017 by co-chairs Reps. Scott Perry, R-Pa., and Brendan Boyle, D-Pa., who wanted to share their enthusiasm and understanding of the auto care industry and garner more support for industry issues on Capitol Hill.
