Automotive Educator, Freelance Writer and Empowerment Speaker

Chaya Milchtein is an automotive educator, journalist, and empowerment speaker. When Milchtein was 18 years old, she started her automotive career at Sears Auto Center in Glendale, Wisconsin. It was an experience that forever changed the trajectory of her life. 

After spending about five years in automotive repair service and a year and a half in the collision industry, Milchtein now runs her automotive education company, Mechanic Shop Femme. Her work is centered around helping women and members of the LGBTQ community feel empowered to purchase and care for their vehicles. 

Milchtein's work has reached international acclaim, bestowing her with features in publications like The New York Times, Al Jazeera, AARP, Metro UK, Chicago Tribune and Oprah Magazine. She writing has published in AAA's Via Magazine, Twin Cities PBS' publication Rewire, The Advocate, The Huffington Post and Shondaland.
