Actions Speak Louder Than Words

We’re all familiar with the old saying actions speak louder than words. Since last year you’ve been hearing that the Auto Care Association is stepping up its international initiatives so that we can better position our members to be competitive in an increasingly global marketplace. And we’re committed to making sure our actions speak louder than our words.  

 

Last month we marked an important milestone by organizing and hosting our first-ever member pavilion at the Latin Auto Parts Expo in Panama City, Panama. Exhibitors in the Auto Care Association Pavilion were very pleased with the quality of attendees at this first-ever show. The three-day event featured 193 exhibitors and approximately 3,000 total attendees representing more than 60 countries. We were ecstatic that 47 Auto Care Association members joined us in Panama.

 

We were even more pleased to learn in a post-show survey that many of our members indicated that they made a sale, signed a cooperation agreement or found new potential clients during the show. These are the kinds of tangible results we are seeking to deliver our members as we expand our international initiatives and resources. Our members identified Latin America as a key target growth market, so we took action and have greatly increased our activities in the region.

 

Another recent example of the association’s international endeavors is our sponsorship of the newly-released Automotive Resource Guide: A Reference for U.S. Exporters. This resource guide, prepared by the U.S. Commercial Service’s Global Automotive Team, is designed to help U.S. companies identify export markets where U.S. automotive products or services are likely to succeed. The guide provides foreign market intelligence on market entry, industry trends, export statistics, primary competitors, trade barriers and a variety of information for members to increase international sales. It will serve as a valuable resource to help our members determine where their next international opportunity might be.

 

Talk is cheap. Action is what counts. We’re proud of the actions we’ve taken thus far to help promote international business opportunities for our members. And we’re just getting started.
