For those of you who travel, you know there is nothing more frustrating than waiting at your gate while your flight is delayed with no information from either the gate attendant or flight crew. It is always welcomed when you are told, “Here is what I know,” regardless of the circumstances.

Auto Care Association and AASA Urge President Trump to Push Efforts to Protect Auto Industry During COVID-19 Pandemic

BETHESDA, Md.  – March 23, 2020 – The Auto Care Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) are urging the Trump administration to designate auto parts manufacturers, distributors, and repair shops as essential businesses to ensure that the vehicles transporting our public health professionals, first responders, and essential goods are operational. In addition, both organizations are encouraging the White House to enforce a “consistent national policy” to keep the auto care industry open. “This industry and its workforce face an immediate crisis that needs your leadership,” the letter states. “Aftermarket manufacturers, distributors, and repair facilities want to provide these essential services, but are facing inconsistent state emergency designations of essential personnel and services. These businesses were deemed critical in the March 19 MEMORANDUM ON IDENTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKERS DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE issued by Director Christopher Krebs of the Department of Homeland Security.”

Federal Government Issues Guidance to Define Vehicle Service and Repair as Essential Service

BETHESDA, Md.  – March 20, 2020 – The federal government has issued guidance to state and local governments to include vehicle service and repair industry in the definition of essential services for the purposes of emergency orders that require non-essential businesses to close.

BETHESDA, Md. – March 2, 2020 – The Auto Care Association today announced the latest recipients of the prestigious World Class Technician award, in partnership with the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). The two organizations provide this annual recognition to professional technicians who have achieved the extraordinary accomplishment of attaining ASE certification in 22 specific areas during the previous calendar year.
