The auto care industry includes small, medium and large companies that produce, distribute, sell, install and repair motor vehicle parts, accessories, lubricants and appearance products. Our mission is to ensure that vehicle owners have access to quality and affordable parts and service. The industry directly employs 2.5 million people in the manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing and installation of automotive auto care market parts and accessories, and an additional 3.9 million in supplier and ancillary jobs. Industry sales in 2014 totaled $328 billion—a 3.5 percent increase over the previous year—contributing more than 2.2 percent to U.S. GDP.
