Auto Care Association Partners with University of Northwestern Ohio to Promote Industry Jobs and Careers

BETHESDA, MD – April 6, 2017 – The Auto Care Association is partnering with the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) in Lima, Ohio to engage and attract college-aged students. Auto Care Careers staff is working with UNOH’s Career Services department to promote the auto care industry as a highly desirable career choice.  

UNOH is an entrepreneurial, not-for-profit university founded in 1920. The University's High Performance program provides extensive training in welding and fabrication, engine machining, custom engine building, steering and suspension, drive lines, accessories trends, fuels, electronics and ignitions. Overall, 86 percent of UNOH graduates are employed or continuing their education.

UNOH’s College of Applied Technologies is hosting their spring 2017 Career Tech Days on May 17-18, 2017. UNOH offers an evening event and a daytime event to ensure all students have the opportunity to attend and meet potential employers. 

Below is a breakdown of the schedule of events:

  • Wednesday, May 17, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (all employers are expected to be set up by 6 p.m.)
  • Thursday, May 18, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Students from a variety of relevant majors will be present at all events, including automotive technology, automotive technology supervision, robotics and automation, diesel technology and more.  

Member participants will be encouraged to promote the merits of their companies, interview students and fill open positions. This will be a very hands-on experience. There is no cost to attend this event.
